Ad Hoc IT Support
Whilst the majority of our IT support clients are benefitting from the improved speed, reliability and cost savings of a SCAMP agreement, some still prefer ‘ad hoc’ or ‘pay as you go’ IT support. This is often because they’re used to waiting until something breaks before calling our specialists or sometimes it’s a new client trying us out for a few months before choosing which SCAMP agreement suits them best.
If you’d like to use us on an ‘ad hoc’ or ‘pay as you go’ basis, we’d be delighted to look after you but you should consider the following too.
Is ‘ad hoc’ IT support really the best way?
If you believe that, then you might like to consider the following:
We’ve been looking after IT for many years now. Over those years we’ve built up a very strong picture of what effective IT support looks like.
‘Ad hoc’ or ‘break-fix’ IT support is what companies did back in the nineties and to a lesser extent the noughties. It was the norm in the nineties when advanced remote support tools and cutting edge software weren’t available to maintain IT systems and actively look for and fix problems. The principle is simple – your IT company does absolutely nothing until your system breaks down and you call them; normally just when you’re about to run the payroll or send a winning tender for that dream contract.
Guess what, within a short space of time your whole IT system will start to slow down due to lack of maintenance. It will then become less reliable and every computer on your network will be running close to failure point.
Who checks your valuable data is backed up each night?
Who makes sure your security systems are kept up to date?
Is your server about to fail with no way of recovering it?
Is relying on ‘ad hoc’ support the best foundation for your business?
